Top technology and great teamwork
Aakash Polyfilms Ltd. has been an integral part of the Indian flexible packaging industry for more than three decades and has earned a good reputation as a manufacturer of metallized PET, BOPP and CPP films. They are already producing CPP, BOPP and BOPET on European lines.
Now, the company’s long cherished plan to serve the market also with high-quality BOPET films was realized: Aakash’s new line at their Surat premises started successfully! The line is equipped with Brückner’s unique multi-gap machine direction orienter, realizing high-temperature stretching technology for high film quality at a consistent level. Additionally, the advanced sliding chain track system “FOK 8.8” in the TDO will support Aakash to operate the BOPET line constantly at high speed, and also will reduce chain maintenance and refurbishment significantly – and thus, increase the uptime at reduced costs.
The decision for Brückner was based on two main reasons: technology plus service and support.
Mr. Pawan Tulsiani, Director at Aakash Polyfilms says: “The features of the 8.7m wide high-speed BOPET line are absolutely convincing. And the fact that Brückner supports us with local forces from their team at Mumbai is of course a huge advantage for us to succeed in this new business.”
Mr. Johann Kreilinger, Head of Sales Middle East, Subcontinent at Brückner Maschinenbau remembers the early days of the project: “The concrete negotiations for this project started in the beginning of the Corona pandemic. Travelling was impossible, so Aakash and we have helped ourselves with virtual meetings via video conferencing. With such a complex project, it takes a great deal of trust and we are very grateful that Aakash has granted us this. We will repay it by doing our best to make Aakash a major player within India’s BO industry.”
