Panel discussion at Brückner
The debate is taking place in all world markets: how to establish a circular economy with plastics respectively plastic packaging? Brückner Maschinenbau has always been convinced that this question can only be answered by all members of the value chain together – and therefore has always been open for exchange of ideas, joint projects, long-lasting cooperation.
Consequently, the year 2023 also began with an exchange of experience beyond the horizon. In a panel discussion at the Brückner headquarters two great experts were our guests: Ansgar Schonlau, Managing Director of Maag, a leading provider of high-value packaging solutions to clients from the food industry and the hygiene and health sectors as well as Dr. Dirk Textor, Chairman of the German Plastics Recycling Association (Fachverband Kunststoffrecycling im bvse e.V.).
Together with the Brückner management, the company’s R&D experts and the complete sales force various topics have been discussed, for instance: legal requirements, existing recycling systems, sense and nonsense of over-excessive recycling, usage and improvement of recyclates, influence of inks and adhesives, the role of recycled PP, recyclates vs material flows.
A very interesting discussion point was the establishment of a certificate for the use of recycled material. What would be the requirements for this? Who could benefit? What role do mono-materials play here? What to consider regarding food approval? In any case, the lively debate showed that this is a direction to go further. We will keep you posted…
